We people want everything without putting efforts, which is not possible. It’s important to get out of your comfort zone in order to grow.

Your company might be waiting for you, all you have to do is that you need to stand out from other candidates which shows that you are the deserving person among all of the other candidates. To standout, to have to go the extra mile. It’s not necessary to have positive response every time, sometimes it needs more efforts to get benefit from your extra efforts in order to gain your goal.

Today, I went to my dream company for dropping my resume and cover letter. This is the small effort which I made to stand out. I was nervous and confused but again I put a step forward by smiling. I practiced my elevator pitch 5–6 times to get fluent with it. It was challenging to go there and focus on all the things which I learnt from the PASSENGER series from Amal Career fellowship like remembering the names of the people in organization, focusing on body language etc. But I tried to stay calm and I did breathe in and out exercise which really helped me to stay relaxed.

I waited there for the HR person for 1–2 hours but he didn’t show up, the receptionist said he is busy in meeting and then she said he is not available today. After waiting, I thought it’s better to leave as I saw him leaving with team. So it’s okay, if I didn’t get chance to present my elevator pitch or even say hello to him. The good thing is that I went there and I will definitely go there again and try to reach him. By little effort actually I got the email address of the HR person which is a plus point. It’s okay, if I didn’t got a chance to meet him but I get his email address. So sometimes your efforts will not get you your goals. Maybe it’s a sign that you should do some more efforts.

I will definitely go there again and meet him and show him how passionate I am about the company. All I need is to practice more and stay positive.
