Anything That Makes You Sinless Is Not A Disorder

I understand to live in this society you have this fear to be extraordinarily amazing, I have this fear too. All we want is to be good in the eye of society but not for ourselves. There are 2 types of people, one who live for validation of society and others who live in their own beautiful sinless worlds. There are people who are not contended for what they have. They never stop complaining, they feel bad the way ALLAH has created them, you can count me in this category too. And then there are those who have their own fascinating planet, where they can never commit any sin, have no greed or jealousy; we called them “special kids”, they are those kids or adults who are going through any kind of mental disorder.

Firstly, I would like to draw special attention towards a disorder called Autism spectrum disorder. Autism Spectrum Disorder or ASD, is a kind of Neurodevelopmental disorder in which a child faces problems while interacting/communicating with others either verbal or non-verbal and goes through depression and metal sickness and finds it difficult to discuss his/her issues with others. In this condition, a kid isolates himself/herself.

The children of age from 18 months to 3 years, are most likely to be diagnosed with ASD. Approximately 300,000 children in Pakistan are suffering from Autism and this scale is escalating day by day ( Reference : https://nation.com.pk/31-Mar-2012/350-000-children-suffer-from-autism-in-pakistan ). This issue is not being properly addressed in Pakistan. Parents are not even aware of such kinds of disorders. The motive is to bring this awareness in people (especially pregnant mothers) about protecting their child from these kinds of disorders. If anyone of you finds your kid not giving you attention or is not responding you then its better to concern a doctor.

The actual cause of ASD is still not known, but research is being carried out to get to know about this. However, there are some risk factors, such as, genetic mutation, prenatal stress, high blood pressure (during pregnancy), having an immediate family member or being born with older parents.

Here comes the bitter truth about society. I am not saying everyone is the same or has the same personality but if the child is being diagnosed with ASD or any kind of disorder, society considers them as mentally retard or special. They are so much better than us, they are sinless , intelligent and are the purest of all of us. Stop calling them “PAGAL”(mad), kindly stop. Stop hurting the feelings of their parents. Stop making their parents and the kid mentally sick. This disorder can be treated, autistic children want love, attention and care (That’s it! Nothing much). They just need a little push. Again, not everyone has the same personality. If these kids are not able to communicate or interact properly, that doesn’t mean they have no life or they are unable to do anything. They find it hard to share their thoughts but they never stop trying. Honestly, they have a better life here and hereafter.

Just be nice and polite with them, make them comfortable, care about them, tell them by your action you are with them no matter what; this will bring confidence in them and they will be able to overcome society’s fear yet continue to live their sinless life.

It’s not bad to have weaknesses, no one’s perfect. we non-autistic also have weak points but we try to overcome that without being called special. Just like us, autistic kids also have some weaknesses and they all try to be better than themselves instead of being better than others . They fight from themselves and from bitterness of society. It is not only our responsibility to help these differently-abled children but also our duty to understand the reasons and circumstances that causes this phenomenon of autism. In addition, having these circumstances recognized is not enough, we as a society have to play our part in reducing the risk factors that cause this disorder and try our best to eradicate them for the betterment of mankind.
